Hot peppers in a jar with vinegar (without boiling)

This is, I think, one of the simplest canned recipes for winter possible. And one of the simplest recipes you can find on the site.

We need only 2 ingredients and about five minutes to put it into practice. It's so simple that even a child can do it.

And it's not a big deal to tell. That's why so far I haven't thought of publishing it in the virtual recipe book.

That's until, the other day, one of the site's readers asked me about a recipe for hot peppers in a jar with vinegar. And I said that if only one person was interested in it, then I had to write it, right?

There are obviously several recipes hot peppers in a jar with vinegar. But I have this "inheritance" from my aunt in Transylvania. The one who also gave me the recipe for donuts in vinegar without boiling and without preservatives, which you already know if you follow the blog and which has become one of the most accessed / sought after recipes on the site.

I'm not going to write you quantities because it practically doesn't make sense. Put as much as you want and depending on how many peppers you have but also what kind of jars.

Preparation for hot pepper recipe in a jar with vinegar

  1. We wash the hot peppers.
  2. We put in a jar (and it, well washed and rinsed beforehand) one pepper at a time, one by one, trying to place as many peppers in the jar as possible, so that they are as crowded as possible next to each other.
There is also the possibility to cut the peppers into rounds and then put them, in pieces, in a jar.
  3. Pour the vinegar 9 degrees to fill the jar and our peppers to be well immersed in vinegar.
  4. Close the lid tightly and store over the winter, in a cool, dark place.

I hope you have it ready!

I didn't bother to buy from the store, but I used the printer and I simply listed it on a sheet of A4 paper, after which I glued double-sided tape.

Hot peppers in vinegar - Recipes

4 teaspoons coarse salt

The hot peppers are washed and cleaned of the leaves. If necessary, adjust the tails (so that they are not too long and take up unnecessary space in the jar).

Arrange in jars, as straight and tight as possible (not to be too crowded, however). Being small, I arranged them in 2 vertical rows and they fit snugly.

After filling the jars, pour the vinegar into each jar (about 2 fingers of vinegar or, in the case of the classic 400 ml jars, up to the top of the bottom reinforcement line). Fill the rest of the space in the jars with water, up to the top.

Pour the water with the vinegar from the jars into a pot and add about 100 ml of water, which will evaporate when boiled. Put the mixture on the fire, together with the rest of the ingredients: salt, sugar and honey. After it boils, stop and let it cool.

When the liquid mixture has cooled, pour it into jars, over the peppers, up to the top. Leave the jars open, without a lid, for about another hour and fill with more liquid, if necessary (sometimes the peppers draw more liquid, and the level drops in the jar).

We put the lids on the jars and put them in a cool, dark place. It dies in about 2 months.

We use very hot and very, very small peppers, both green and red.

The pickled peppers can be stored for 2 years (probably even longer, but that's all we got the most), without softening.

Hot peppers in vinegar in a jar pickled for the winter

Hot peppers in vinegar in a jar pickled for the winter. Hot pepper recipe for winter, pickled in vinegar, without boiling. The peppers remain hot and crunchy and are perfect with soups or dishes with sauce (stews). They can be pickled whole or sliced.

In my family, these pickled hot peppers have always been men's specialty. My grandfather was a big fan of hot peppers in vinegar and he always had them at home, both fresh (in season) and pickled, in small jars (cut into slices and whole). He was also responsible for preserving horseradish in vinegar as I told you here.

He put in his soup half hot peppers in vinegar (or fresh) and sprinkle freshly ground pepper with a grinder. Nothing seemed fast enough for my grandfather & # 8230.

When choosing hot peppers for the winter, think ahead about which jars you will use. I found in the market some very beautiful peppers that fit in some higher jars-bottles (300 ml). I chose colored peppers: green, red and orange.

Here I write the recipe for a 300 ml jar. If you want more jars, you will multiply all the quantities.

Garlic pickled in vinegar. It also contains hot peppers!

This recipe for pickled garlic in vinegar is extremely simple. I prepare it every year. The taste of garlic combines perfectly with that of hot peppers. Follow the recipe step by step and you will get 10 jars (250 ml) of pickled garlic.

Necessary ingredients:

  • 40 heads of garlic, 10 small hot peppers
  • A few mustard seeds, cloves
  • 10 bay leaves

Ingredients for the marinade:

Method of preparation:

Peel a squash, grate it and put it in the well-washed jars. Chop the hot peppers and add them to the jars. We put one pepper in each jar.

We also add, in each jar, 2-3 cloves, a bay leaf and a few mustard seeds.Prepare a vinegar marinade. Bring water, vinegar, sugar and salt to a boil in a large saucepan. We let it boil, then we take it off the fire. Let the marinade cool for about 10 minutes.

Then pour the marinade into jars of garlic and pepper. We screw the lids on and sterilize the jars.

We put a kitchen cloth on the bottom of a pot. Add the jars to the pot and pour the water. The water should reach up to 3/4 of the height of the jars.

After the water boils, leave the pot on the fire for about 15 minutes. Then take the jars out of the pot and place them on a kitchen towel.

Let the jars cool. Only after the jars cool completely, we store them in the pantry. The combination of garlic and pepper is delicious. You must try this simple but extremely tasty recipe! Good appetite and increase cooking!
