RECIPE PREPARATION Aloo Tikki, Indian potato meatballs:
1. Peel the boiled potatoes and pass them or put them on the large grater
2. Mix all the ingredients and add the amount of flour gradually until you get a composition that can be shaped.
3. Meatballs are made that can be rolled in breadcrumbs before being fried, the idea came to me after I ate them :))
4. Fry in a non-stick pan in a little oil and obligatorily with a lid because the peas, being frozen, make the oil jump.
5. Serve with creamy yogurt with mint, I like Olympus and sweet-sour pickles.
They are very good. In Bangladesh, other vegetables are added, each as it is in the kitchen. Garam Masala is an Indian blend of 3 spices that CAN BE FOUND in stores specializing in spices (I found it on Academiei Street, towards the National Bank). Turmeric comes from India (also known as "turmeric"), it is found in spice sachets on which both names are mentioned, at all supermarkets: MegaImage, Carefour, Kaufland, etc. It is a bright yellow powder, with a very exotic taste and perfectly good. It is also recommended in various ailments - found on the internet.
First write the recipe as it should, then give yourself a great specialist, with what you connect the components.

Potato dish with meatballs
For the meatballs, mix the minced meat with the finely chopped onion in a bowl, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. With both palms, wet, you begin to form the meatballs. Heat the oil in a saucepan and brown the meatballs for a few minutes. Take them out and set them aside on a kitchen towel.
For the food, peel, wash and cut the potatoes into cubes. Heat the oil in the same pan and start frying the finely chopped onion with the crushed garlic and the tomato sauce or broth. Add the potatoes, bay leaves, season with salt and pepper to taste and, if desired, sprinkle with curry and dried thyme. Pour enough water to cover, stir and simmer over medium heat until the sauce is reduced and the potatoes are half cooked.
Then add the meatballs, stir and let it simmer for another 15-20 minutes. Serve hot and garnish with your favorite greens.

Tikka Masala meatballs
I want to introduce you to a dish often cooked in my kitchen: Chicken Tikka Masala. This dish, contrary to the name, is not of Indian origin, but is a British interpretation inspired by Indian cuisine. For me, it is also the result of real teamwork, the chicken and the sauce being always prepared by my friend, while I take care of the naan bread, a very fluffy and easy to obtain Indian bread.
Although it is most often prepared with chicken, this time I chose to prepare meatballs, which were delicious with creamy and spicy sauce.
500 gr minced pork, half red onion (finely chopped), ¼ cup breadcrumbs, 1 egg, fresh coriander (about 2 tablespoons, finely chopped), 3 tablespoons Greek yogurt, 1 teaspoon each: chilli pepper, ginger, cumin (grind in a mortar), half a teaspoon of cinnamon, salt and pepper.
Sauce: 25 gr butter, 2 cloves garlic (crushed or finely chopped), 1 teaspoon each: chili peppers, paprika, ginger, cumin (grind in a mortar), 1 teaspoon and ½ tikka masala spice (or garam masala) , 500 ml mashed tomatoes, 1 teaspoon sugar, 200 ml cooking cream, salt and pepper, fresh coriander.
At least 2 hours before preparing the sauce, mix the meat with the rest of the ingredients. I prepared the meat the night before and kept it in the fridge, covered, but it is not mandatory.
In a saucepan, over medium heat, brown the crushed garlic with the spices in butter for 1 minute. Add the mashed tomatoes and sugar and simmer for about 10 minutes.
During this time, shape the meatballs and fry them in 2 tablespoons of oil, so that they brown on the surface. Set aside on a paper towel.
Over the cooking cream, in a bowl, gradually add a few tablespoons of sauce to be at the same temperature. Add over the tomato sauce, season with salt and pepper and mix well. Add the meatballs, mix carefully and simmer for about 10 minutes.
Serve with coriander, next to pita bread or basmati rice. We served tikka masala with homemade naan bread, according to our tradition.
The recipe in rustic cuisine is called in Northern Transylvania "Potato muntucati." It is prepared in the same way except for mustard seeds and turmeric. Instead of turmeric, use paprika (paprika) sweet or hot or combined. It is a fasting food and is consumed with a can of millet (sauerkraut juice) next to the plate. The same preparation is used to fill Transylvanian pies in Lent, replacing cheese and replacing fried lard with sunflower oil.
In Romania you can find all the ingredients in the recipe. Turmeric has been found for many years in all plafar type stores, curry leaves have also appeared more recently in online stores. Anyway, I see they are optional.
In Romania you will not find all the spices from the recipe-turmeric, dried curry leaves. With these the recipe would be of grade 12.
Maybe it's good. I don't like Indian flavor. but onions with hot peppers, thyme, salt and pepper (usually black) in which the potatoes are added and get a little dizzy on the fire are formidable ..traditional potato facaluiti
All the ingredients for flavor (curry leaves, turmeric, cayenne pepper) can be replaced with a mixture of Indian spices, which is found under the name of curry in any supermarket, I will try in this version, I am sure it will be very good, and instead of chilli I will put green hot peppers (anyway the spice is a little hot). I used curry powder in meat dishes and I liked it, I'm sure that any vegetable dish will be delicious flavored with Indian spices.

Romanian, Turkish, Greek meatballs, wherever you meet them!
It is not known who invented the meatballs. We find them almost everywhere in this world, in Italy, Israel, Lebanon, Jordan, Malaysia, Thailand, China, Turkey, Greece, even in America and the United Kingdom. They are called differently and seasoned according to local specifics. Some marinate them in tomato sauce, others fry them in hot oil or lard, but they are still meatballs.
Romanian meatballs contain bread soaked in water, sometimes rice, sometimes grated potatoes, minced meat, eggs, spices, etc. Meatballs can be prepared from chicken, turkey, lamb, lean or fat pork mixed with beef and, for fasting or diet periods are made from fish or vegetables.
The small meatballs are called meatballs, and the big ones, like long cakes, are called parjoale.
Meatballs with meat can be served both hot and cold, simple or with a garnish of mashed potatoes or rice pilaf, garnish with vegetables, salad, tomato sauces, peppers, sorrel. Delicious meatballs can be prepared without a drop of meat, using instead "meat" of tasty vegetables (pumpkin, lentils, tomatoes, potatoes, etc.).
The way you cook can vary. The best are the ones made in oil, the more dietetic ones are made in the oven or on the oil-free ceramic pan.

Italian potato meatballs
My meatballs here are Italian for the following reasons: 4 sun-dried tomatoes, 2 tablespoons of pesto, 2 cloves of crushed garlic, some chopped parsley + about 3 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese. I mixed them all with the remaining chicken (the equivalent of about 4 medium potatoes, boiled and crushed without mercy), along with an egg, salt and pepper.
